LTE throughput calculator

Below you can find a simple LTE throughput calculator. It calculates maximum DL throughput depending on bandwidth, MCS (Modulation and Coding Scheme) and MIMO usage. More details how to calculate maximum LTE throughput.
Some details about parameters are listed below:
  1. Bandwidth defines how many radio resources are available to transmit data. All values standardized by 3GPP are supported.
  2. MCS (Modulation and Coding Scheme) depends on channel quality (e.g. SINR) and defines how many bits can be carried by a single Resource Element (RE). The following values are supported QPSK, 16QAM, 64QAM. Calculator shows maximum throughput which are reachable in case of selected modulation.
  3. MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) sets MIMO scheme. This parameter is taken with some inaccuracy, i.e. initial throughput is multiplied by 2 or 4 either MIMO 2x2 or MIMO 4x4 selected, respectively. In reality throughput will be a bit lower due to increased number of pilot signals.
Another notice is calculated throughput includes LTE headers (i.e. PDCP, RLC and MAC).

Advanced version of calculator will be added soon.
